Dragons

What would a Dragonpunk mod be without Dragons?  Dragons are going to be an exciting and pivotal part of the Dragonpunk Universe, so we want them to be something memorable.  For this reason our Dragons will be set to release alongside our Dragonpunk Campaign, currently the plan for that is a 2018 release, this will give the time needed to ensure a quality product is delivered.

Upon initial release there will be 3 Dragons, they will be available in a standalone mod, we plan to put care in their creation. In order to create these Dragons, high poly dragon models are created first and used to generate the normal maps. Low poly models are then created for use in the game. In addition these game models must be textured, rigged, animated, and transfered into the game. Custom game scripts, voice acting, and story-arcs all must be created.

This is a community project that we want to share with everyone as much as possible, stop in and discuss ideas you have about our Dragons, or any other Dragon concepts you’ve been excited about.  Suffice it to say, Dragons are going to be an experience you won't want to miss!

Magic

While the Psy Operative in XCOM 2 may seem like magic, we want to push the limits on the magic concept.  The Magic Mod will introduce 3 truly magical classes into the XCom 2 game. These classes will possess two specialties for the player to choose from.  The Magic Mod is going to be a standalone mod that can be used inside the XCom 2 existing storyline to change the experience for the player.  You can use it alone or add it to one of the other mods Dragonpunk will be releasing.

The first magical class available will be the "Blood Mage".  The specialty classes for the Blood Mage are "Hemokinesis" and "Necromancy".

We value feedback and open community discussion on the Dragonpunk project and would love to hear your ideas for other Classes, Specialties, and Abilities.  Stop by our twitter feed for news and updates or to make suggestions and comments.

Multiplayer

Been wanting to play XCom with your friends in a cooperative setting?  The Multiplayer Mod is by far our most anticipated mod, and if we have our way it will be the first available!

How will it work?

Version 1 will add an additional button under the "Select Soldier" button, "Invite Player".  This button will allow you to access your Steam friend's list and invite a friend of your choice to take ownership of that soldier on the upcoming mission. Once invited, your friend will control the soldier menu in order to outfit their controlled soldier.

After the mission is complete, your friend will return to their own game along with any XP and loot they've earned from the mission.

Drones

The "Gremlin" drone in XCOM 2 adds an amazing new dynamic that we're expanding on with the Drone Mod. This mod will create the framework to add additional drones and to adjust their stats to balance game mechanics

Initially, we will add 2 additional drones, for a total of 3 drone choices. These two additional drones will have unique abilities. The success of the specialist class will largely determine on choosing and mastering the correct drone for the correct play scenario. As always, drone design and game play will be voted on by the community.

Cyber

What was once a liability is now an asset. Critically wounded Soldiers may lose a limb during battle. Continued research and development of advanced cybernetics ensures that they are combat effective.

Augmentations refer to all cyberware and bioware a player may equip and upgrade. NOTE: The "Augmentation Mod" may be considerably revised or dropped after assessing the existing augmentation system in XCOM 2.

This mod will expand XCOM's cyber and bio implants into a fully customizable system. In order to maintain game balance, there may be a set limit of upgrades allowed per Soldier. As the amount of cybernetics increases, the Soldier's "Humanity" decreases. A decreased level of "Humanity" will have profoundly negative effects on the battlefield.

Species

Dragonpunk is going to be a thriving universe with a multitude of species to interact with and enjoy!  We want to give you a taste of this sooner rather than later.

The “Species Mod” will add the option to choose different species for use in your XCom 2 campaigns, this will be purely aesthetic.  Species will have no additional bonuses or “race specific” traits, we want to encourage universe building through the inclusion of amazing and interesting mythical creatures.

In order to achieve this, a new option will be added to the character design menu, the “Species” option, it will be inserted above the “Race” option.  The player will be able to select from a variety of species(and also the race of the species) as they are made available through the Mod Community or DragonWare’s Art Team.

We are having open discussion on Twitter regarding new species and their inclusion in the Dragonpunk Universe.  Stop by the Dragonpunk Twitter feed and give your input or strike up a conversation in our forums!

As the “Species Mod” is under development there may be initial versions where character creation will not be able to be saved into character pools, this is to avoid compatibility issues for those people not using the “Species Mod” from Dragonpunk.

Stealth

This mod will comprise the main game mechanics added to the Dragonpunk campaign. It will be an assortment of changes ranging from AI tweeks, to stealth weapons such as Compound Bows, to the ability to re-enter concealment multiple times in the same map.

The purpose of this mod is to focus the game on the the true guerilla warfare.

A myriad of different scenarios will be tested and voted upon by the players. One such scenario might be to use the round timer when breaking concealment. The squad will have two turns to eliminate the enemy before reinforcements are called in. While it is possible to still win the game with successive waves of reinforcements, it is unlikely, and will therefore encourage players to focus on stealth and tactics.

Strategy

The Dragonpunk Strategy Mod contains the changes made to the Strategy Layer of XCOM 2. Upon final release, this mod may also be separated into multiple smaller mods. 1 mod may increase the number of workshops from 9 to 16.

Another may allow construction of multiple lair's around the world as in the traditional XCOM. Finally, the actual Dragon's Lair mod will be completely retextured and have Dragonpunk specific areas.

Webcomic

The Campaign Mod will be the last one created, as it requires the finished version of all 8 Dragonpunk XCOM 2 Mods. During the wait we hope to build the Dragonpunk Universe through a monthly web comic.

Every person has a unique story to tell, and our Story Mod is just that. This mod utilizes all the other Dragonpunk Mods, but is not required. As XCOM 2 is an exceptional single player game, our Story Mod will be focused on the the multiplayer experience.

The Dragonpunk Story Mod is a throw-back to tabletop strategy RPG's. We remember spending nights around the table, crafting characters, and creating a bond with those characters. In a world of click-fest MOBA's and twitch-paced First-Person Shooters, we miss taking the time to obsess over every strategic detail, because any turn could be your last.
